Stay Interviews

What is a Stay Interview?
A one-on-one employee interview with their direct supervisor to better understand what motivates the individual to continue employment or to leave.  It is normally conducted with employees in good standing in high valued positions but is often extended to the entire work force. 
 
Stay Interviews are the opposite of a Performance Review.  The supervisor makes no judgmental comments on job performance but instead focuses on the employee’s level of job satisfaction, motivations, and career path.  This creates a deeper level of supervisor/employee communication which will help resolve issues such as lowering employee frustrations, lowering absenteeism, and raising pay satisfaction. 
 
The management uses the information gained in the interviews to make policy changes, better support an individual’s career and identifying areas of weakness within the organization. This process is designed to increase your employee’s trust, commitment and engagement leading to higher retention rates and a stronger, more successful company
